Mike Clermont, Chair
Mike is the owner of Russ Hays Bicycles with stores in Victoria and Sidney; he has been a business owner since 1974.
Mike is a Director for the Rotary Club of West Shore, Vice-President of the Burnside Gorge Community Association and is Past President of Capital City Executive Association. Past volunteer efforts include Finance Chair for both St. Andrew’s Cathedral and St. Joseph’s the Worker Parish. Mike currently chairs the Sisters of St. Ann Legacy Fund Committee.
Mike is married with four children and six grandchildren.
John Juricic
John Juricic is Co-Founder and Corporate Training Development Manager of Etraffic Solutions, an international online learning & digital media solutions company based out of Victoria, BC. In less than a decade, Etraffic Solutions has developed a world-wide reputation as a leading e-learning solutions provider, offering top-quality service and innovative online and print learning tools to governments, universities, schools and businesses of all sizes. The company delivers education and training materials on virtually any platform and in any format. Etraffic Solutions is known for its visual design, instructional animation, online game, interactive media, print textbook and workbook designs.
John is the Past-Chair (2009) of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) and currently sits on the Board of the BC Chamber of Commerce for 2010. He has been on the GVCC Board of Directors since 2005 and has chaired a number of committee’s including Election Readiness, Government Affairs, Business of Sport, and the Greater Victoria Development Agency.
Ray Kolla
With more than 32 years of public accounting and business advisory experience, Ray’s focus is on providing audit and business advisory services to successful private, public and not-for-profit organizations. He has provided assurance, business advisory and consulting services to large and medium sized organizations. He has worked with financings, public share offerings, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and has served companies going through significant growth and those with international operations.
Ray is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and Saskatchewan. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Throughout his career, Ray has been involved in numerous community and professional organizations. Ray is currently a Board Member of the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce. He was a longtime member of the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce and the North Saskatoon Business Association. His roles have also included Executive Board Member of Saskatoon United Way, Executive Board Member of St. Ann’s Senior Citizen’s Village Corporation, Chair of the Saskatoon Long Term Care Council, and Board member on the Saskatoon District Co-coordinating Committee for Long Term Care. He has also been involved in many professional education committees, and industry organizations such as the Agriculture Biotechnology International Conference.
Nate Lampard
Nate Lampard is a business and real estate lawyer with Jawl & Bundon. Nate was raised both here in Victoria and in Honolulu, Hawaii. After graduating from St. Michaels University School, Nate received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from Queen’s University in 1994 and his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Hawaii in 2000. He is admitted to the bar in Hawaii, Connecticut and British Columbia. Prior to returning to Victoria in 2008, Nate practiced real estate, business, and construction law at leading law firms in Hawaii and Connecticut and held underwriting and legal positions in the insurance industry in New Jersey.
Away from the office, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and their three young children. He also serves on the board of directors of St. Christopher’s Montessori School in Oak Bay.
Lisa Nye, Vice-Chair
Lisa’s 28 year career with the Government of BC has included a variety of leadership and Executive/senior management roles in ministries that include: Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Small Business, Technology and Economic Development, Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Community, Aboriginal and Women’s Services, Advanced Education, Training and Technology, Tourism, Labour and Health.
In the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Lisa co-chaired the 19 member committee of senior federal/provincial/Aboriginal officials to develop the commitment document and agenda for the 2005 First Ministers’ Meeting on Aboriginal Issues and played a key role in the development of the Transformative Change Accord and the Métis Nation Relationship Accord. In the Ministry of Advanced Education, Lisa worked on the development of the University of the North and in Tourism developed the first ever Tourism Business Plan.
Lisa has completed a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science/French. Lisa has also served on various external boards and committees in a volunteer role. Lisa is the 2007 recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Silver Medal for Excellence in Public Service and received the Order of the Sash from the Métis Nation British Columbia.
Lisa is currently the owner of Pinpoint Consulting Inc. specializing in developing practical, effective and innovative solutions targeted to the various needs of a diverse array of organizations and businesses.
Pat O'Neill, Treasurer
Pat has been in the financial industry for over 37 years. In 1981, he established Patrick McKay O'Neill & Associates Ltd. to advise municipal governments and institutional clients concerning banking cash management, capital funding, foreign exchange and financial analysis. In 1997, Pat established FX Connectors Ltd., to expand their wholesale and corporate foreign exchange service into the retail sector. In addition, Pat is currently the Senior Vice-President of Cockfield Porretti Cunningham Investment Counsel. Pat’s volunteer commitment includes Mount St. Mary Hospital, parish council, St. Clair Villa, Communion minister, and Knights of Columbus. Married with one daughter and two sons.
Veronica Osborn, Past-Chair
Veronica has been on the board of the Mount St. Mary Foundation since 2005, and was its Chair until May 2010. She retied from the BC public service in January 2009, having served the province in a variety of capacities for more than 35 years.
Veronica is now a consultant, and provides strategic marketing, public relations and event planning support - primarily to the non-profit sector. Her volunteer work within the community includes: Victoria Women's Transition House - Speaker's Bureau (1993-1997); Victoria Community for B.C.'s Children's Hospital – Chair (1999-2001); Vice-Chair and Director for Schools and Youth and Public/Media Relations (1995-2001); YM/YWCA of Greater Victoria “Women of Distinction Awards” – founding committee member and Council Chair (2003 and 2004), Nominations Chair, Scholarship Committee Chair. More recently, Veronica has joined the 2011 Victoria Tall Ships Festival marketing committee; and the Victoria Citizenship Committee.
Veronica has two children: Alix - a graduate student at the University of Waterloo studying public policy, and Cameron, who is taking Environmental Studies at Langara College in Vancouver.
Diana Patterson
Diana is BMO’s Area Manager for Commercial Banking and Small Business on Vancouver Island. For the past 6 years she has been actively involved as the Chair for our Fountain of Hope (an Employee Charity Organization) in Victoria, and has also served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board. Diana has a passion for ensuring the elderly receive the care and attention they deserve in their twilight years.
Deane Strongitharm
Deane has been a principal associate with City Spaces Consulting Ltd. and principal of Strongitharm Consulting Ltd. His projects span urban and rural settings, sepcializing in mountain and marine tourism, land-use planning and project management. Previous career experience includes the public sector and other high profile businesses such as the Oak Bay Marina Group.
Deane's volunteer work experience includes: Director and Past President, Greater Victoria Hospital Foundation; Executive Member, Sport Fishing Institute of BC; Vice President, Council of Tourism Associations of BC; Director BC Cancer Foundation (Vancouver Island) Advisory Council; Past President, Victoria Heritage Foundation and; Past Director, Univesity of Victoria Alumni. Deane is married and enjoys playing golf.
